I was reading about SEO today and wanted to make a quick post talking about what I feel is 3 of the most important things you can do to help your search engine rankings in google. I want to also make it clean that SEO(search engine optimization) is not a simple equation that can be solved with just these three points i’m about to make, SEO takes in many factors when deciding how and where you are ranked in the search results, these 3 points are just some of the bigger factors.
#1 Google Likes Blogging
As google grows and continues to become more and aware, it’s able to better filter through massive amounts of content on the web and decipher what content is is written with the users in mind, and what content is written with google bots in mind. Back in the day, people creating websites and content could abuse all sorts of tricks to get top search rankings, like spamming links and overusing keywords, among a lot of other things throughout the years.
Google is becoming smarter and better at identifying the websites that post true quality content, and one of the biggest things you can do to rank better is be someone who offers that content. One of the best ways to get consistent and quality content out onto your website and to your audience is to write frequent blog posts regarding things about whatever it is your website and niche is about.
Your blog posts don’t have to be all that long, just short posts touching on topics of your choice whether you are giving an update about yourself or giving tips, tricks or general advice, something I try to do now and again personally.
#2 Website Optimization
This one is kind of a gimme, but a lot of people really don’t take the time to properly organize their website, making sure all the buttons lead to their proper page and links link to wherever they are supposed to link to.
If you truly do want to build a website that will yield the returns you want it to yield, you are going to have to make sure that your site is built to last, which means built right the first time from the ground up, taking the time to do all the tedious things you are going to have to do to make sure this menu or that widget works properly.
You can have all the most useful content in the world, but if the site can’t be navigated by your users then it’s all for nothing. Something to keep in mind is that the easier it is to navigate your website with properly laid out menus and the more you link your content, the easier it will be for google to crawl through the content on your site and properly index it. Not to mention that a site that is easier to navigate will lead to more overall conversions, every affiliate marketers ultimate goal.
#3 Being A Niche Authority
What exactly makes up the traits of sites that are considered to be an “authority” in a certain niche or topic? Well to be honest, pretty much the first two points I made, a clean, optimized site and quality content that is somewhat frequent and actually useful or engaging to the users. The thing is though, you have to keep building your site with those principles in mind, and over time you will gain and build up your authority, leading to better rankings.
The older your site is and the more is evolves and continues to add more and more content while also making sure it continues to be properly optimized as content is added, eventually you will come to be recognized by google as an authority in your niche.
So don’t stress it if you aren’t even anywhere near the front page at this point, just keep doing the things you know will lead to better rankings like the things I mentioned along with knowledge you already have and eventually your sites reputation will build itself and your rankings will climb.
If anything I mentioned above was something by chance you may not have known or maybe you already knew about the things I had to say and have some SEO tips you would like to share to help others, whatever the case please feel free to leave a comment down below and let me know what is on your mind!
